The factory's output consists of angle (equal & unequal), T-section, channel, square, flat and round steel profiles, manufactured according to DIN standards, with the capacity to produce 120,000 metric tons per year based on the production mix.

● The standard bar Length is 6.00 meter for section and 12.00 meter for rebar. But any other length for any product on request is possible, based on a company evaluation.
● The standard package weight is 2 tons for any product. But, any other size is possible on request, based on a company evaluation.

Manufacturing Process

• ■ Rolling Passes

  
  

  Initially, the starting material (billet) is heated up to the appropriate temperature in the pusher-type furnace. The hot material then goes through the different stages of the rolling procedure: the roughing zone, intermediate zone and the finishing zone. Throughout this procedure the material can go through 17 passes before being transformed into the desired finished product.

• ■ Cooling bed

  
  

  After the last rolling stage, the material is divided into appropriate lengths by the hot dividing shear before entering the cooling bed area. In this zone the material is air-cooled, its temperature lowering as it is gradually moved along walking beam rakes towards the other side of the bed. The use of these rakes for handling material on the cooling bed will help ensure the products remain straight throughout the cooling stage, thus minimizing the end-users preparation work.

• ■ Straightening and Cut to Length

  
  

  During the process of air-cooling on the cooling bed, produced sections form cambers, therefore they must pass through a straightening machine to ensure they are within their standard tolerances. This machine consist of 2 sets of 5 rolls located on top of reach other, and its setting are implemented through hydraulic proportional valves, making the machine highly accurate. After the straightening process, the material is cut up into required lengths by the flying cold shear. Using this technology, the Kouhpaye Steel Co. is able to provide customers with the exact length they require.

• ■ Bundling and Weighing

  
  

  One of the Kouhpaye Steel Company's specialized functions is its ability to stack, bundle and weight the products fully automatically, in an area called the Stacker. With this ability we are able to provide bundles in the exact tonnage required by the customers. because of the compactness of the bundles, they are very easy to handle, transport and are also very convenient to store.

• ■ Monitoring System

  
  

  One of Kouhpaye steel's main technological advantages is the Level II Automation System (Human Machine Interface). Each stage of the production process is controlled through this system from 4 pulpits located in various parts of the factory. This technological know-how has allowed us to increase product quality, decrease scrap and improve the ease of production.

Quality Control

The quality of the raw material is checked prior to being used in the production process. during the production the quality of the product is checked at each of the three zones - the cooling bed, the cold shear and the stacker. At the final stage, one sample from every 50 tons of finished product will be mechanically and chemically tested in factory laboratories to insure compliance with the required standards.
